Well, I am finally getting it to the point of release.
My overall goal with this was one that I have been thinking about for a few years. I wanted to create a small app that would live in my system tray and keep an eye on my used minutes from my Verizon Wireless account.
Once you enter in your Verizon account info, it starts tracking your usage and will display it to you in the "Usage" window. If you choose to enter in a gmail username and password, it will allow you to set warning points and limit points for the account and each number. If these marks are hit, a text message will be sent to your phone using the gmail account.
Ex.
-I enter my Verizon and gmail info into the settings and save.
-Now I wait for my Verizon info to be fetched.
-I then go back into settings and set a warning and limit for the account, as well as for one of the mobile numbers associated with my account.
-Account:
--warning - 1250
--limit - 1345
-(Mobile number):
--warning - 400
--limit - 500
-I set these limits based on my total monthly limit (1400 minutes) and my share of the time (500 minutes).
-Now, if I were to hit the warning mark, it would send just my phone the message, as it would if I hit the limit.
-If I and my family were to use enough minutes to hit either of the account marks, it would send us all txt messages letting us know we were close to done with our minutes.
Anyone who has ever had to pay an obscene amount in overages can really appreciate this tool.
I hope this helps someone out, as I know it has been helping me.
Please leave any feedback, as I have only tested on my account.
